MUSIC, Man of the Week: Onra

Ok, apart from the fact that he is indeedly cute and is the perfect young fella' that my father would love for me to bring home to...This dude is dope and so are his beats...
Onra is one psychobilly talented French/Viet producer from Paris, whom I one time found spontaneously through MySpace and as from then, it had led me to instantaneously fall in awe with all his music...
I highly recommend you to download all of his albums from Itunes, such as 'The Big Payback' (this is a band as he collaborated with Byron the Aquarius) and the album, 'Tribute' (with Quetzal) which includes a combination of 'jazzy-electro-soul-hiphop-lounge-chillout' beats, yeah I guess that's a mouthful but I tell ya' it's worth listening to...

His new album 'CHINOISERIES' is one that Onra produced on his own and vastly differs from his other albums. It sounds like a combo of treasured Old-folk Chinese records being propitiously saved from the Asian grandparents (who wanted to take it down with them to their grave) that have been remixed with hip-hop cinematic beats. 'This album is a perfect soundtrack for an Asianploitation movie', or so he explains. But how splendid is that, I've never come across Hip hop incorporated with Asian beats...I love this guy, so far he is one of my favourite artists! I also owe many thanks to this guy as his page had also introduced me into the psychedelic world of underground electro-soul (ie FLYING LOTUS, MADLIB, JNEIRO JAREL AND MUCH MORE) but I shall elaborate on that another time, for now it's all about ONRA BECAUSE WE LOVE HIS MUSIC DEARLY..
