"You either die a hero or live long enough to be the villain"
I just wanted the latest instalment of the highly successful Batman franchise, is one of the far deepest and detailed movies ever for a comic movie hero. It has to be one of the movies to watch this year. Christopher Nolan is a triple threat as director/writer/producer.Traditionally, I was the fan of the precedent Batman Begins, and the different outlook of origins of this troubled man, but this movie hits you personally with the themes of impact of living the existential void, balance/order and who is actually good/evil (cheesy but good). Spoiler alert, in that scene with two boats, one with normal people/one with jailmates, and how they choose who to blow up- great. The use of production settings of minimal locations though simple, are amazing. I'm happy astonished at Heath Ledger' acting of The Joker- the perfect anti-hero and surprised by Aaron Eckhart's reenactment of Harvey Dent, especially at that climax (you will know what I mean). Also, as well loud and great action scenes, of course.
I wouldn't be surprised if Heath/Eckhart got Oscar nods, and gets lots of money.
STARS: ****
